[Intimate space – place of memory]
The series of photographs is a late confrontation with the death of my younger brother, who died at the age of 22 in the war in Croatia, in 1992. For many years I was numb about it. The first step toward telling the story led me to the apartment, in which we grew up. Untouched and almost not entered for 17 years, this material world seemed to have had caught up immaterial processes of pain; which, moved away from the level of immediate recognition, like in the picture of Dorian Gray, seemingly lived a parallel life, numb and packed in the dust.
